West Denver Library, affectionately named “Corky” Gonzales Library, is a two-story DPL library, located at West Colfax Avenue. The exterior facade is highlighted by a series of horizontal “threads”. The surrounding walkways feature a radiant heat snow-melt system, perfect for the unpredictable Colorado weather.
Water-efficient native plants landscape the surrounding library. The interior welcomes you in with an array of natural light from the floor to ceiling windows, solatubes, skylights and a colorful carpet palette. Children have space to roam on the second floor children’s library, featuring a story-time tower filled with artwork for the community. The second floor courtyard is a great space for those to enjoy the outdoors while reading their favorite book.
